Effective October 25, 2026
This policy explains what information Papeles LLC ("Papeles," "we") collects through mypapeles.com and the Papeles service, and how we use it. Papeles is software for immigration law firms; it is not a law firm.
On our public pages (the home page, About, Terms, Data Processing Agreement, this Privacy page and the attorney sign-up page) we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the page visited, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location (city or region). We do not send Google your name, email or anything you type into a form.
We have turned off Google's advertising features (Google signals and ads personalization) for Papeles. We use this information only to understand how people find and use our site.
Google Analytics is not used on sign-in pages, the attorney pages or the client portal.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Learn more about how Google uses this information.
When an attorney signs up, we collect their name, firm name and address, phone, fax and email, and their login details. Payment cards are entered directly into Stripe; Papeles never sees or stores the full card number. We use this information to open and run the account, bill the subscription, sign users in securely, and contact the firm about its account. We record sign-ins and account activity for security, as described in the Data Processing Agreement (Section 3.7).
Information that a law firm enters about its clients, and that clients enter in the client portal, belongs to that firm. Papeles stores and processes it only on the firm's behalf, as set out in our Terms of Service and Data Processing Agreement. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train machine-learning models.
If you are a client of a law firm that uses Papeles, please contact that firm with questions about your information, or to ask to see, correct or delete it. Your firm decides what is collected and kept.
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the providers that run the service for us (hosting, email, text messages and billing), listed in the Data Processing Agreement Annex, with Google Analytics for the public pages as described above, or where the law requires it.
Papeles uses a session cookie to keep you signed in; the service does not work without it. Google Analytics cookies are used on the public pages only, as described in Section 1.
We protect information with the safeguards described in the Data Processing Agreement, including two-step sign-in, encryption in transit and encrypted backups. Account and client information is kept while the firm's subscription is active and deleted as set out in the Terms of Service (Section 4.6). Security logs are kept for 12 months.
Papeles is a service for law firms and is not directed to children. Information about minors is entered only by their family's law firm, as part of that firm's legal work.
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Questions about privacy: legal@mypapeles.com, or Papeles LLC, 2136 W North Ave, Ste 1W, Chicago, IL 60647.
